- Roman poet (65–8 BC) of the Satires, Odes and Ars Poetica, and the court poet Bolaño needed twice: once so Belano could turn a provincial dean named Horacio into Augustus-era Paz and the whole Mexican literary establishment into an imperial patronage racket, once because Satires 1.9 hands a pest hounding Horace down the Via Sacra the name Bolanus — an ancestor Bolaño cheerfully claimed, patron saint of literary careerists.
